Pear "Parisian" is a variety bred by V. Fursin more than a hundred years ago. When breeding crossbreeding, a parental pair was introduced, represented by the varieties Saint Germain Winter and Cure.
Description and varietal characteristics
Pear "Parisian" belongs to the category of vigorous, forming a wide-pyramidal and medium thickened crown. According to the description of the variety, the fruits have a very attractive elongated pear shape. At the stage of complete ripening, the surface of the pears acquires a greenish-yellow color with a very pronounced red tan. Commodity fruit has an average weight of 185 g. The pulp of a ripened pear is white, very tender, oily and juicy. The taste is sweet, with a slight acidity and a pleasant fruity aroma.

The Parisian pear is known and revered by gardeners of our country. In plant nurseries there is a very large selection of high-quality seedlings of this crop that perfectly take root during autumn planting. The most suitable for planting are two-year-old pear seedlings. You need to choose plants for planting carefully, approaching the matter with knowledge of the main features of pear seedlings of this variety:
- high-quality annual fruit seedlings do not exceed 1.2-1.3 m in height, and the trunk thickness is 0.9-1 cm;
- well-developed and ready-to-plant seedlings have three or four thick and powerful main roots;
- the length of the root system of annual seedlings rarely exceeds 18-20 cm;
- two-year-old seedlings have a more developed root system - about 30 cm in length;
- seedlings should not have dry and damaged sections of the bark, and the buds should be at rest.
Rules for planting pears are standard:
- pear seedlings are planted in areas with previously prepared soil;
- the optimal dimensions of the landing pit are 70 x 70 cm with a depth of 1 m, but sometimes it is enough to make a small depression in the soil that will correspond to the size of the root system of the plant;
- the planting pit should be dug up well in advance and filled with soil nutrient mixture from fertile soil and rotted manure with the addition of peat;
- if the root system is open and the roots of the plant are slightly dried, then it is necessary to lower them for about a day in water with the addition of "Heteroauxin" or any other stimulant and only then plant;
- planting varieties with a very voluminous crown implies a distance between plants of 5 m, which will provide the pear trees with an optimal area for nutrition and lighting;
- to place the root system of the seedling is necessary on a small earthen elevation, made in the landing pit;
- after installing the seedling in the pit, it must be ensured that the root of the plant’s neck does not deepen, and then carefully spread its root system and sprinkle it with nutritious soil.
After planting, abundant watering and organic mulching of the soil are carried out. It is also recommended to tie the fruit sapling to the support peg.
Further care for the young pears consists of regular watering, loosening the tree trunks in the summer and digging them in the autumn. Weed removal should be carried out, as well as measures to control the main pests and diseases of fruit plants in the garden should not be neglected. Among other things, in the first years of growth and development of a pear, special attention should be paid to the correct formation of its crown.
Pear "Parisian" belongs to the category of fairly unpretentious varieties. To obtain stable yields and maintain high productivity of fruit stands, you must adhere to the following recommendations:
- watering is carried out as necessary and depending on the type and condition of the soil, and during irrigation measures the soil under the fruit tree should be saturated with moisture to a depth of about 80-100 cm;
- in dry and too hot weather, watering pear trees should be as abundant as possible and at least four times during the summer;
- for feeding pears, it is recommended from June to July to make the introduction of basic phosphorus and potassium fertilizers;
- mineral fertilizers introduced during spring dressing should not directly contact the root system of the pear;
- before top dressing, carried out in dry and hot weather, the soil in the irrigation grooves should first be spilled abundantly with water;
- the use of foliar top dressing of young plants with a solution of basic trace elements and nutrients is very good;
- annual correct pruning of pear trees is carried out throughout the life of the fruit tree, starting from the first years;
- pear trees should be cut only in the spring, and in the autumn period sanitary cleaning of plants is carried out;
- in early spring, the processing of garden plantings from plant parasites and the most common pathogens of pear diseases is carried out.
The ripening fruit of the Parisian pear variety begins in late September, and the consumer ripening period begins in mid-November. Subject to the storage regime, the harvested crop without loss of variety qualities is perfectly preserved until the beginning of February.
How to re-pear a pear
According to experienced gardeners, the Parisian pear is characterized by excellent yield: with proper care, the yield from one tree reaches at least 75-80 kg. The fruits ripen very amicably and do not crumble from the branches.
When cultivating a pear of this variety, the gardener should be prepared for the fact that early Parisian flowers may suffer as a result of spring return frosts.
